EVRaid is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the technical vision, execution, and scaling of our electric powertrain, battery systems, and vehicle electronics platforms. This role is critical in transforming EVRaid from an advanced engineering organization into a Tier-1–ready deep-tech company, capable of delivering production-grade EV solutions to OEMs and strategic partners.
The Director of Engineering will own end-to-end engineering delivery, from system architecture and R&D to industrialization and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Engineering Leadership & Strategy
- Define and own EVRaid’s engineering road map aligned with business, product, and investor strategy.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across power electronics, BMS, motor control, embedded software, mechanical, and systems engineering.
- Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and technical governance.
- 2. Product Development & Architecture
- Own system-level architecture for:Electric power trains,Battery packs & BMS,Inverters & motor controllers,Vehicle control units (VCU)
- Ensure designs meet automotive-grade requirements (safety, performance, reliability, cost).
- 3. Industrialisation & Production Readiness
- Lead transition from prototype → pilot → production.
- Drive DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, validation and testing processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and partners to ensure scalable production.
- 4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards:ISO 26262 (Functional Safety),ASPICE (where applicable),Automotive EMC, thermal, and environmental standards
- Own technical risk assessment and mitigation plans.
- 5. Team Building & Talent Development
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performance engineering teams.
- Recruit top engineering talent in hardware, software, and systems.
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, innovation, and execution.
- 6. Cross-Functional & External Engagement
- Work closely with Product, Business Development, and Operations teams.
- Represent EVRaid in technical discussions with OEMs, Tier-1s, investors, and regulators.
- Support technical due diligence during fundraising and partnerships.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive, or Systems Engineering (PhD is a plus).
- 12+ years of engineering experience in automotive, EVs, power electronics, or embedded systems.
- 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role (Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, or equivalent).
Strong hands-on background in at least one core EV domain:Power electronics,Battery systems & BMS,Motor control,Embedded automotive software
Nice to have
- Experience scaling engineering teams in startups or fast-growing deep-tech companies.
- Prior work with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Proven experience bringing products to mass or pilot production.
- Familiarity with cost optimization and localization strategies for emerging markets.
