EVRaid is seeking a Functional Safety Manager to own and lead the complete Functional Safety domain across our EV powertrain, battery systems, and embedded control platforms.
This is a highly technical leadership role, The selected candidate will act as the Functional Safety Expert, responsible for establishing, implementing, and governing ISO 26262-compliant safety processes across the full V-cycle — from concept to SOP.
The role requires deep technical expertise in EV systems (BMS, Inverter, MCU, HV systems), strong system-level thinking, and hands-on experience with safety-critical embedded architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Full Functional Safety Domain Ownership
- Lead and manage end-to-end Functional Safety activities according to ISO 26262.
- Define and implement EVRaid’s Functional Safety Management System (FSMS).
- Act as internal authority for safety compliance, audits, and assessments.
- Establish safety culture across engineering teams.
- 2. Safety Lifecycle Management
- Conduct Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC.
- Define and allocate ASIL levels.
- Develop and review: Safety Goals,Functional Safety Concepts,Technical Safety Concepts,Safety Requirements (System / HW / SW),Ensure traceability across the full V-model lifecycle.
- 3. EV System Safety Architecture
- Lead safety architecture design for: Battery Management Systems (BMS) , Inverters & Motor Control Units, HV distribution systems , Powertrain ECUs
- Define safety mechanisms (redundancy, monitoring, diagnostics).
- Evaluate HW/SW architectural metrics (SPFM, LFM, PMHF).
- 4. Technical Leadership & Governance
- Guide System, Hardware, and Software teams on ASIL-compliant development.
- Lead safety analyses: FMEA / FMEDA , FTA , DFA
- Coordinate safety validation and confirmation measures.
- Interface with external assessors and certification bodies.
- 5. Process & Compliance
- Establish safety documentation templates and internal standards.
- Lead internal and external safety audits.
- Ensure readiness for production and homologation requirements.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 7+ years experience in automotive functional safety.
- Proven experience implementing ISO 26262 in production programs.
- Strong experience in EV systems (BMS / Inverter / Powertrain control).
- Hands-on experience in ASIL C/D projects.
- Experience with: System safety analysis , Embedded systems , AUTOSAR safety concepts , Diagnostic architectures
Nice to have
- TÜV Functional Safety certification.
- Experience with cybersecurity standard ISO/SAE 21434.
- Experience in start-up or R&D-driven environments.
