We are looking for a Senior Process & Production Engineer to join our battery pack manufacturing team. This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and controlling production processes across the battery pack assembly line while also ensuring daily production targets, quality standards, efficiency, and safety requirements are achieved.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in battery pack production, a solid understanding of manufacturing process design, and the ability to bridge engineering and operations to drive continuous improvement on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day production activities for battery pack assembly and related manufacturing operations.
- Ensure production plans are executed efficiently to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
- Monitor line performance and identify bottlenecks affecting throughput, cycle time, and productivity.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Support production team leaders and technicians in resolving daily operational challenges.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, machines, and workstations.
- Process Engineering
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for battery pack production.
- Define and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process parameters.
- Lead process setup and optimization for activities such as: , Cell/module/pack assembly , Mechanical assembly , Busbar and connection assembly, Insulation and safety checks , Wiring harness routing, BMS integration , Functional testing and end-of-line validation
- Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve process stability and repeatability.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure manufacturability of new battery pack designs.
- Technical & Quality
- Ensure all battery pack manufacturing processes comply with quality, safety, and engineering requirements.
- Work closely with design and R&D teams to provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) feedback.
- Review technical drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and production documentation.
- Support root cause analysis for production defects, failures, and field-return related issues.
- Drive improvements in : First pass yield (FPY) , Rework reduction , Scrap reduction ,Process capability
- Collaborate with quality teams on PFMEA, control plans, inspection plans, and process validation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, cost, line balancing, ergonomics, and production reliability.
- Identify opportunities for automation, tooling improvement, fixture enhancement, and process standardization.
- Track and report key manufacturing KPIs and implement action plans accordingly.
- Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies such as: 5S ,Kaizen, Line balancing ,Waste reduction ,OEE improvement
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe handling and production practices for lithium-ion battery systems.
- Ensure production activities align with internal quality and safety standards.
- Team Support & Leadership
- Provide technical support and guidance to operators, technicians, and junior engineers.
- Train production teams on process requirements, assembly methods, and quality standards.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and technical evaluation of production staff when needed.
- Act as a key technical point of contact between production, engineering, and management.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering,Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or process engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience in battery pack manufacturing, battery assembly, or EV-related production environments.
- Experience working with production lines, assembly processes, testing stations, and manufacturing documentation.
- Proven experience in process optimization and production problem-solving.
